Catalog description
This course introduces the student to the basic concepts of a Polysomnography, which helps in the diagnosis and evaluation of sleep disorders, exposing the student to develop critical thinking skills. Generally, includes monitoring the patient's airflow through the nose and mouth, blood pressure, EKG activity, blood oxygen level, brain wave pattern, eye movement, and movement. of the respiratory muscles and the extremities. You will develop the skills of handling materials and life support equipment. You will be trained for the initiation and modification of therapeutic procedures for airway management. The student will participate in educational experiences that allow them to d evelop their quantitative reasoning skills. This course is designed to provide both didactic and practical laboratory training, during the night shift (7:00 pm - 7:00 am).
