The course explains topics related to micro -organizations that comprise specific areas that focus on the interaction between individuals and information technology in organizations. The course exposes topics related to meso - organizations that focus on the dynamics and processes that affect majority groups in organizations. Students will gain knowledge in the structure and writing of research pr oposals related to information systems. Through the course, students will achieve capabilities that will allow them to analyze the factors of individuals and groups to face organizational challenges to achieve computer efficiency and effectiveness of compa nies. The course promotes creativity and the exchange of knowledge among students to present their thoughts and arguments so that individuals and groups can act and decide in the face of the challenges of business environments in information systems. RESM 860 RESEARCH SEMINAR ON THE MACRO MANAGEMENT OF INFORMATION SYSTEMS IN INDUSTRY AND SOCIETIES 3 CREDITS This course includes topics in the framework theory of the nonprofit, for -profit, or government environment. The technological organization environment framework theory explains the process by which a company adopts and implements innovations that is influenced by the technological context, the organizational context and the environmental context, as well as the implementation, de velopment and use of information systems. The technological context includes internal and external technologies that are relevant to the company or industry. Technologies can include both equipment and processes. Organizational context refers to the charac teristics and resources of the company or industry including size, degree of centralization, degree of formalization, and management structure. The environmental context includes the size and structure of the industry, the company's competitors, the macroeconomic context, and the regulatory environment. The course is a space for the exchange of ideas and development of synthesis for the understanding of the different strategies that researchers from organizations and computer science societies contribute to the explanation of organizational processes and research models for problem solving. of the industry. The course is organized as a seminar; allowing the participation of students and the teacher to make it an immersive one for the exchange of knowledge an d learning of scientific research. The exchange of knowledge is based on the review, analysis and findings of research articles and books, aimed at information systems companies and industries.
