Catalog description

In this course the student will critically support the terminology associated with CR / DR for effective performance when performing radiographs based on radiographic equipment technology. Evaluate the different ways of acquiring digital images in CR and DR to determine the proper use of the equipment. Study the differences between CR and DR to select the appropriate exposure factors for the image production system. Learn how to apply the technical factors to influence spatial resolution and effective doses in each exposure. Evaluate errors, technical limitations, artifacts, and common problems in the acquisition and / or manipulation of digital images to acquire images of diagnostic quality. Critically evaluate radiographs to identify quantum speckling and how to reduce the incidence in radiographic images. Study what are the precise parameters for the acquisition and visualization of digital images in radiology. Investigate the differences between PACS, RIS, HIS and DICOM and how they communicate with each other in the hospital system. Memorize the technical factors that influence the production process at the Workstation and how to reduce image repetition. Use quality procedures to evaluate the digital radiography system. The student will learn how to demonstrate radiographic exposure errors before sending digital images in PACS so that the image distribution reaches the correct place.
