Catalog description

In this course students begin the development of their identity as public servants in safety. Students will develop commitment and attachment to civil rights. The course includes practice exercises. The course presents the study related to the history, mission and vision of the Puerto Rico Police Bureau, attached to the Department of Public Safety of the Government of Puerto Rico. In addition, it allows the student to learn and identify the skills and abilities inherent to the public servant in the field of law and order. Basic concepts on police patrol methods and techniques, prevention models and strategies for the cre ation of patrol plans and responses to address criminal incidents in Puerto Rico are presented. The student will develop commitment and respect for the civil rights of the citizens she serves includes practice exercises.
