Universidad Ana G. Méndez-Cupey Campus · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
The teacher preparation program of the UAGM Carolina Campus contributes to the training of future teachers capable of promoting and improving the quality of life of society, through the effective pedagogical practices. The educational clinical experience in the K -12 physical education program is the culminating phase of the student teacher's professional preparation in the field of specialty. It is the field experience in which the teacher candidate assumes the responsibility of carrying out tasks that the teacher performs in the real school environm ent. It constitutes the means to apply the different dimensions of teaching and learning. During the practice, scenarios are provided for the rehearsal of educational experiences that will promote the training of the future teacher committed to the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of the student. The time required to do the practice will be 250 hours located in a school or educational center. For this reason, the K -12 physical education teaching practice seminar promotes the discussion, analysis, and evaluation of real situations and responsibilities that arise in the teaching practice of K -12 physical education students. This seminar offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of our practicing teachers in the academic, r ecreational and sports activities offered in the schools of the public and private educational system of Puerto Rico. It has been designed to support and complete the experience of teamwork among practicing teachers by offering them a space to reflect unde r cooperative learning as part of the teaching practice process. .
