Catalog description
Study of the principles and concepts related to community health nursing. Discussion of nursing roles in health promotion and disease prevention in individuals, families, and the community, considering the Healthy People 2030 guidelines. Analysis of social , ethical and moral factors that cause health disparities in the community. Development of care provider and care manager competencies and the nursing process to plan interventions that promote improved family and community health is facilitated. In clinic al practice, comprehensive nursing care focuses on evidence-based practice and the principles of quality improvement and safety, taking into account the cultural diversity of the family and community. Requires 45 hours per semester of the theory component (3 hours of theory per week) and 90 hours of the laboratory component (6 hours of laboratory per week).
