Catalog description

This course introduces the philosophical principles of naturopathic medicine and the role of naturopathic physicians in the current health system. Students will examine the roots of naturopathic medicine and its historical development. Emphasis is placed on the six guiding principles of naturopathic care, "the healing power of nature, treat the wh ole person, first do no harm, identify and treat the cause, prevention, doctor as teacher" and the therapeutic order, correlating the philosophical basis to the naturopathic practice. This will firmly instill the pillars of the naturopathic medicine in future Naturopathic Physicians.
