SOCIAL MARKETING FOR NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS

Catalog description
While community based social marketing (CBSM) is predominantly used to describe the utilization of the marketing process in order to change behaviors related to sustainability and environmental responsibility, the course takes a much more expansive view of CBSM, one that considers marketing as a tool that can be used by business and non - profits for developing communities, both economically and socially. The knowledge acquired in this discipline will be useful to find solutions to social problems, to know possible strategies to change behaviors to be socially responsible. Contextualization of the issues using the business environment in Puerto Rico as the main setting, while considering their global aspect. Emphasis on the development of knowledge, skills and critical thinking skills, through the analysis of current business problems, which allow the student to evaluate and propose solutions to them based on the result of the analysis of the situation. In addition, the development of skills related to research, new technologies and communication is facilitated.
