Catalog description

This course is an introduction to the basic concepts of medical terminology. Includes the study of prefixes, suffixes, roots, combinations, special endings, plural forms, abbreviations and symbols established by the American Medical Association and used by health professionals. The course is designed to establish an association between systems and know parts of the words that are used to build or analyze new terms. It provi des the opportunity to decipher unknown terms and emphasizes the lexicological, morphological and semantic components of the language of medicine and other strictly terminological contents.
