CORE STUDIO: CONCEPTS AND REALIZATION III

Catalog description
In this third "Concepts and Realization" course, students will be introduced to conceptual fashion design. During the course, students will explore and experiment with new textures and shapes to represent an idea or philosophy that results in unusual silhouettes. The selection and ex ecution of materials will support the expression of the idea, which predominates over the forms. The students will research a social, cultural or political topic that will serve as a starting point for the development of a fashion collection. As a final pr oject, one of the designs will be made, which involves the selection of materials, draping, pattern making, construction of toiles and final garment. In this course, they will continue to develop oral and visual presentation skills that allow them to clear ly express their ideas and concepts.
