Catalog description

In this course the student will develop the modeling of a skirt, bodice, bustier and torso, in addition to other designs. Modeling techniques with different materials will be explored to understand their behavior on the volumes of the human body. As part of the modeling process, students will manipulate and experiment with fabric to understand the drape of the fabric and its effect on the silhouette. Each piece will be transferred from three dimensions to two dimensions for pattern creation. The student will continue the development of their dressmaking skills by creating toiles in muslin.
