This course emphasizes methods for teaching reading and writing in English for second language learners. The whole language, phonics, balanced literacy approaches, and newly emerging techniques will be studied and used. A myriad of assessment strategies and tools will be analyzed and utilized to evaluate reading and writing performance tasks at different levels.
