SOLID STATE ELECTRONICS

Catalog description

Three credit-hours. Three hours of lecture per week. This course covers the physics of solid-state electronic devices, including p -n junctions, MOS devices, field -effect transistors, and bipolar transistors. In addition, principles of optoelectronics, integrated circuits, and high frequency and high -power devices will be discussed. Students will use scientific and quantitative reasoning to analyze and design electronic circuits for power conversion commonly encountered in consumer electronics and industrial applications.
