COMUNICATION SYSTEMS II

Catalog description

Three credit-hours. Three hours of lecture per week. Introduction to the analysis of analog communication systems in the presence of noise. Optimum signal detection. Introduction to information theory. Introduction to error correcting codes. Students will apply quantitative reasoning and modern engineering t ools to analyze and design communication systems, and use critical thinking to evaluate the performance and reliability of communication systems typically encountered in commercial applications such as radio, TV, telephony, and computer networks.
