COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS I
Universidad Ana G. Méndez-Cupey Campus · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
Three hours of lecture per week. This course provides an introduction to communication systems. Basic modulation and demodulation techniques and performance of digital communication systems in the presence of noise are introduced: linear modulation, angle modulation, sampling and pulse code modulation, detection -error probability, behavior of digital communication systems in the presence of noise. Students will apply quantitative reasoning and modern engineering tools to analyze and design communication systems, and use critical thinking to evaluate the performance and reliability of communication systems typically encountered in commercial applications such as radio, TV, telephony, and computer networks.
