MICROPROCESSORS I

Catalog description

Three credit -hours. Three hours of lecture per week. This is an introductory course in computers and microprocessors. It focuses primarily on software aspects. Topics include CPU architecture, microprocessors, microcontrollers, assembly language programmin g, interrupts, I/O peripherals, memory, system architecture, and simple interfacing. Students will work in groups to tackle challenging problems requiring microprocessor -based systems by proposing innovative solutions that make use of modern technologies.
