Catalog description

This course delves into the detailed microscopic structure and organization of the tissues and organs found in domestic animals, focusing on their arrangement and function in a healthy, physiological state. The course utilizes didactic lectures, laboratories, and digitalized slide virtual content accessible to students remotely for demonstrations of relevant microanatomy of tissues and organs. The basic histology laboratory methods and review of cell biology is given in the beginning of the introductory aspect of the course. The course will also explore the relationship between the morphology and function of the various cells and tissues that make up organ systems, with an emphasis on how these relationships differ across animal species. Through consideration of the normal microscopic structure of tissue and organ systems, students will be able to des cribe the important normal and functional relationship associated with cells, tissues, and organs that allows normal physiological functions.
