Catalog description

Knowledge, learning and application of the most significant tools for the investigation, monitoring, analysis and evaluation of virtual communities and social media. The course examines the advantages and disadvantages of using quantitative and qualitative approaches for monitoring and evaluating online conversations. Through th is course, students develop critical thinking skills through the interpretation and analysis of data in social media and in the presentation of results reports. Students will implement the social media strategic plan, started in the previous course (COMM 303), which includes marketing, advertising and / or public relations actions. In this course the student will demonstrate the ability to work as a team to present, develop and implement a social media plan, produce content for multiple social platforms, ma nage, energize and monitor communities, thus ending with the presentation of an evaluation report. The course is developed through readings, discussions, case studies, brainstorming sessions, management, monitoring and evaluation of practical situations in virtual communities and other group exercises in a responsible way. Offered for one semester.
