Catalog description

Three credit -hours. Three hours of lecture per week. The Internet is also one of the world’s most powerful communication tools. This course will discuss and present the underlying applications, components and protocols of Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and its necessary link to the Internet. The Introduction to TCP/IP course will help participants learn how to identify TCP/IP layers, components and functions. Navigation tools, TCP/IP services and troubleshooting methodologies are also covered in this course. Students will hav e an opportunity to hone their analytical skills and will use computer tools to analyze problems associated with the transport of data over the Internet.
