During this semester, it will be exemplified how the quality control and quality assurance are very significant to preserve the outcome of imaging department. The student will learn to apply quality assurance and quality control to improve the quality of radiographs. Assess the benefits of radiographic quality control for the patient and technologist to reduce the repetition of radiographic procedures. Demonstrate government regulations that guide the quality management of X -ray equipment. Apply the appropriate test procedure to evaluate the quality of the radiographic equipment in operation. Evaluat e the result of the basic quality control test for protective lead aprons and equipment to prevent the transmission of scattered radiation. Critically analyze the breakdowns that occur in radiographic equipment to take corrective quality control actions. A nalyze the different types of artifacts that occurred in radiographic procedures in order to distinguish corrective actions when repeating the radiographic projection. Manage effectively the quality control to determine if radiographic equipment is in opti mal operating condition.
