PARTICIPATION IN LIFE ROLES & SPORTS

Catalog description

Assessing and treating the ability to participate in life roles (work, play, sport, domestic, education, and social) is brought to life through a series of cases contained within interactive labs and immersion experiences. Through cases that span the lifes pan, students select appropriate participation standardized tests and interventions, including modifying activities or environments. Students use reasoning skills to write letters to advocate for patients requiring specific equipment or services as well as to progress a plan of care in order to return a patient to sport using evidence-based interventions and a collaborative team approach. Simulations address postpartum PT, school-based interventions, return to collegiate sports, return to work, civic, and community life interventions. Integrated Clinical Experiences or Immersion Experiences are used to incorporate theory with practice.
