Catalog description

Using dynamic lectures, instructional videos, physiology software, experiential learning assignments, and intensive labs, students gain knowledge and application of exercise as a critical PT intervention to enhance movement and function. This course focuse s on addressing cardiovascular and pulmonary endurance, muscle endurance, muscle length, strength / power training across the lifespan. Students learn to assess cardiovascular risk factors and to monitor physiological responses of the cardiovascular and pu lmonary systems to exercise. Movement science principles applied to analyze movement and hypothesize impairments and restrictions in activities and participation. Integrated Clinical Experiences or Immersion Experiences are used to incorporate theory with practice.
