Catalog description

This course introduces the fundamentals of modern physics, including Relativity, Quantum Physics, Statistical Physics, Nuclear Physics, and Computational Chemistry. Calculus and differential equations will be used for the theoretical analysis of physical quantities. At the end of the course, students should be able to: Have an overview of the advances in physics of the last century and relate the physical concepts to the experiments developed. Emphasis will be placed on the development of the main knowledge, abilities, and skill s of critical thinking and technological skills through the resolution of both theoretical and experimental problems that allow the student to evaluate and propose solutions to them based on scientific reasoning. In the laboratory, different technological equipment and programs will be used to test physical laws. The course consists of 45 hours of lecture and 45 hours of laboratory.
