NURSING THEORIES IN ADVANCED NURSING PRACTICE

Catalog description

Social, behavioral and natural sciences theories and models are discussed and related to the development and evolution of the nursing theories. Comparison of theories, underlying concepts, definition of the four metaparadigms and its application to advanced nursing practice is done. Emphasis is placed on comparing and contrasting the various theor etical formulations and relating their major concepts to the role of the master’s professional nurse. These theories from nursing and related disciplines are used as a guide for therapeutic nursing interventions. Students will be required to develop a conc eptual framework for evidenced based nursing intervention.
