Catalog description

This course prepares the student to explore extensively the sustainable design process through spatial solutions on an institutional scale or a large site. This learning experience includes topics on intervention typologies, sustainable techniques, and natural systems. Such systems like land forms, water, vegetation, wildlife, soils, climate, among others, and its interaction with grey infrastructure. Studied infrastructure roads, buildings, and utilities. Institutional design and its site planning, resource and context analysis, planting and material selection are also approached. Projects will emphasize the principles of sustainable design solutions on a large site project.
