Catalog description
This course offers a solid foundation in the exciting field of computer forensics. Students will acquire skills to obtain and analyze digital information, using it as evidence in civil, criminal or administrative cases. Various topics are covered, including the use of specialized hardware and software for computer forensics, legal and ethical considerations in this field, volume techniques and analysis of file systems, as well as computer forensics investigations. In addition, the social and legal impact of these investigations will be explored, providing a comprehensive and updated vision of the digital forensic environment. Upon completion of the course, students will be prepared to face the challenges posed by computer forensics in the real world, being able to apply their knowledge ethically and professionally in cases that require rigorous handling of digital evidence.
