Catalog description
This course offers students a deep understanding of the construction and analysis of cryptographic primitives used in modern systems. It covers secure hash functions, symmetric and asymmetric encryption algorithms, key exchange protocols, and more. Student s will learn the design principles, security properties, and potential vulnerabilities associated with these protocols. The course also introduces techniques for analyzing and breaking cryptographic schemes, covering classical and modern cryptanalysis methods such as brute-force attacks, differential cryptanalysis, and side -channel attacks. Students will gain insights into the strengths and weaknesses of different cryptographic systems. Additionally, the course provides practical exercises and projects to reinforce theoretical concepts. Students will have hands-on opportunities to implement cryptographic algorithms, evaluate their security, and develop secure systems. Throughout the course, there is a strong emphasis on maintaining a balance between theory and practice. Students will develop a solid theoretical founda tion while acquiring practical skills applicable to real -world scenarios.
