Introduction to the theory and practice of basic accounting principles and concepts applied to the hospitality industry: the accounting cycle, bookkeeping and financial statements for hotels and restaurants. Topics covered will include generally accepted accounting principles, inventory valuation, depreciation, producing and interpreting the balance sheet and income statement, among others. Promoting the development of skills related to management, quantitative reasoning and critical thinking.
