BASIC SEWING

Catalog description

This introductory course will familiarize students with the basic principles of sewing. They will learn techniques by hand and machine. Technological skills will be developed through mastery of domestic and industrial sewing machines. Students will be required to produce a variety of techniques and skills related to clothing manufacturing that includes the selection of tools and materials, the practice of standard seams, closures, hems, and other finishes. All samples made will be presented in a portfolio.
