Presentation and discussion of different topics which compose the discipline of conservation biology, including key concepts of genetics and ecology as it relates to conservation, maintenance of biological diversity, biogeography, conservation of natural resources, and conservation of endangered species. In these topics, the application of key concepts to examples of conservation programs in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean are emphasized .
