Catalog description

Teaching oral communication to second language learners from K -12 emphasizes authentic and meaningful language use in different contextual settings. The teacher candidate analyzes pedagogical research regarding the new trends in the teaching of oral communication. Studying the principles and pedagogical factors that influence the teaching learning process are essential. Likewise, candidates explore the types of spoken language, the approaches, strategies, methods, and techniques that must be considered to develop oral communication skills and improve the learners’ oral proficiency in English. Teacher candidates use diverse assessment and evaluation tools to measure students’ proficiency level in their lesson plans and their action research experiences. Research projects are developed through the responsi ble use of technology and information skills to generate new knowledge
