ADOLESCENT LITERATURE IN THE ESL CLASSROOM

Catalog description

This course is an overview of the history and current trends of Young Adult Literature. Teacher candidates will read across the genres represented in adolescent literature, evaluate its quality, explore students' responses to various reading selections, and use literature i n teaching and learning. Teacher candidates will develop criteria for selecting appropriate age-related readings in English and apply the proper methodologies, strategies, and assessment techniques.
