Catalog description

This course focuses on the study and analysis of different genres for children from ancient folklore to modern works. It provides English teacher candidates with methods, strategies, and techniques for the teaching of reading in English as a Second Language. Future teachers develop criteria for selecting appropriate age -related readings in English and apply the proper methodologies, teaching strategies, and reading assessment techniques implementing the balanced literacy approach. Research projects will be developed through the responsible use of technology. It is an intensive reading and discussion course.
