ELEN 472
ANTENNAS AND TRANSMISSION LINES
Universidad Ana G. Méndez-Carolina Campus · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
Three credit -hours. Three hours of lecture per week. Introduction to analysis, characterization, and design of transmission lines, wave guides, and antennas. Telegraphy equations, lossless lines, characteristic impedance matching, bounded wave propagation modes, cavity resonators, planar and dielectric wave guides, vector potential, antenna types, impedance, radiation patterns, and antenna feeds. Students will develop the scientific and quantitative reasoning skills required to analyze electric and magnetic phenomena and understand their relationship as they occur in practical applications such as transmission lines, antennas, high-frequency electronic circuits, among others.
