Catalog description
Three hours of lecture per week. Introduction to electromagnetic systems. Transmission lines, electrostatics, boundary value problems. Maxwell's equations and its applications. Plane waves. Reflection and refraction of plane waves. Fundamentals of electromagnetic wave propagation and antennas. Students will develop the scientific and quantitative reasoning skills required to analyze electric and magnetic phenomena and understand their relationship as they occur in practical applications such as transmission lines, antennas, high-frequency electronic circuits, among others.
