Catalog description

The course explores theories and concepts underlying learning assessment for science education. Assessment topics to be discussed include theory of measurement, reliability, and validity; design, administration and use of assessment results to enhance student learning; and assessment accommodations for students with disabilities in a science classroom. It emphasizes the analysis of research identifying best practices and assessment approaches to be integrated them into the instructional process.
