EVALUATION OF CHILDREN WITH AUTISM

This course is aimed at knowing and understanding the evaluation process of autism spectrum disorder and recognizing other neurodevelopmental conditions that are usually present within the autism spectrum. Presents and discusses the indicators or first signs, characteristics and behaviors that describe the student with autism, emphasizing their early identification. The aspects of alternative evaluation will also be discussed to achieve an accurate diagnosis, as well as an appropriate educational intervention. Students will study different scales of assessment and screening for autism including those developed in Puerto Rico.
