Catalog description

This course marks the end of the DMD program-long documentation of individual student’s learning process and involved active reflection about their educational experience. The Independent Student Portfolio (ISP) documentation requirements were introduced during the first -year summer term co urse Induction to Clinical Dentistry, providing the venue whereby students engaged in self -assessment and making meaning about their educational experience. The ISP provided the opportunity for students to demonstrate their competency through the evidence collected throughout the educational journey, and reflecting and assessing their growth, from beginning professional students to competent prospects for graduation. The course provides students with opportunities to present aspects of their Independent Student Portfolio documentation, as well as share reflections (individually and along with peer students) about their overall educational journey and the SDM program.
