This course is designed to provide a general introduction to the fundamentals of growth and development of the craniofacial complex. A basic understanding of the biological principles of the craniofacial complex formation provides the required foundational knowledge to understand and apply concepts in other courses such as Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics and for the successful completion of the National Dental Board Exam. Among the topics covered in this course, special emphasis is given to hard tissues in the craniofacial regions, the teeth, and the skeletal structures, which are common topi cs required for proper orthodontic development that ultimately determine the structure, function, and development of the most important traits of the face and jaw.
