Catalog description

Three credit-hours. Three hours of lecture per week. The fundamental tools and techniques for computer security are discussed in the context of the pervasive role and impact that computer technology has over the individual, the enterprise and on society -at-large. Topics covered include computer viruses, operating systems, program security, database security, legal, privacy and ethical issues. Students will hone their analytical skills to ensure data privacy and communication security. In addition, students will consider ethical situations in the context of data security.
