FOUNDATION TECHNIQUES IN COUNSELING PSYCHOLOGY

Catalog description

The history of counseling psychology in Puerto Rico, the guidelines and principles in counseling psychology and the application of these in its models of intervention, the ethical issues of psychologists and the code of behavior and issues related to the practice of psychology will be discussed. The student will know and learn how to act in accordance with the Ethical Principles of Psychologists and the APA Code of Conduct; o relevant laws, regulations, standards, and policies governing health services psyc hology at the organizational, local, state, regional, and federal levels; and o relevant professional standards and guidelines. Recognize ethical dilemmas that arise and apply ethical decision - making processes to resolve them. Conduct him/herself ethically in all professional activities. .
