NUMERICAL OPTIMIZATION

Catalog description

Three credit-hours. Three hours of lecture per week. This course introduces the central ideas behind the algorithms for the numerical solution of both unconstrained and constrained optimization problems. Students will use computer tools and develop their analytical skills to obtain numerical solutions to optimization problems arising from physics, biology, engineering, and economics applications.
