CHEM 390
INTRODUCTION TO SPECTROSCOPY
Universidad Ana G. Méndez-Carolina Campus · UGRD · Fall 2026
1 section
Catalog description
This course will train students in the interpretation of spectroscopic data for the identification of molecular structures. This course will provide theoretical basic concepts in infrared spectroscopy (IR), nuclear magnetic resonance (13C -NMR, 1H -NMR), Ultraviolet -visible (UV) spectroscopy and mass spectrometry (MS). As possible theoretical discussions will be combined by practical experimental experiences and fundamental exercises to develop the basic skills necessary to identify and elucidate the structure of chemical compounds, in particular organic chemical compounds. .
