HEALTH AND BIOSTATISTICAL METHODS

Catalog description

This course prepares students to systematically apply strategic approaches to manage, analyze and present qualitative and quantitative data on health care for evidence -based practice in nursing. Within the framework of scientific research, students will develop the necessary skills to select and perform appropriate statistical techniques to describe phenomena, explore relationships and compare groups. It presents an overview of the main statistical concepts, including the distinction between parametric and non -parametric statistics, measurement principles and the interpretation of inferential statistical significance using contemporary analytical methods. It facilitates the development of competencies related to research and evidenced -based practice and information and healthcare technologies. This course requires 30 hours of theory and 15 hours of practice learning statistical skills.
