Experimental microbiology is a hands-on research course that introduces students to the strategies, instruments and challenges associated with microbiology research. In this course, the student will conduct independent and original research projects. The areas of attention are (1) isolation and identification of microorganisms based on traditional and modern techniques, (2) analytical imaging and microscopy techniques for identification a nd characterization of microorganisms, and (3) bioinformatics. Since communication is an important component of scientific research, this course also helps students to improve their written and oral communication skills.
