Catalog description

Introduction of principles used in recombinant DNA technology for industrial and medical applications. Study of recombinant DNA techniques used to analyze and manipulate genetic material. The course will illustrate different techniques employed in manufact uring, diagnostics, and research including DNA analysis with restriction enzymes, cloning, nucleic acid hybridization, gel electrophoresis, gene expression and protein purification. The course also emphasizes ethical aspects and public perceptions of recombinant DNA technology.
