Catalog description
This course will cover the basic principles of organic farming grounded in biological, social, economic and ecological sustainability and its challenges. The concepts of botany and plant reproduction of different agroecosystems with emphasis on the tropics will be studied; its interactions with abiotic components; the interactions between species in the crop, beneficial insects or pests, soil microorganisms; and the interactions between crops and weeds.
