MEDICAL TRANSCRIPTION

Catalog description

This course introduces the student to the use of word processing and transcribing equipment in order to produce a variety of medical reports. Medical terminology and English language skills, report formats, and medical references are emphasized. Students will learn to transcribe inpatient and outpatient medical documentation in a secure and ethical manner in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
