MEDICAL ASSISTANT FOUNDATIONS

Catalog description

This course is designed to introduce the knowledge and skills medical assistants need to understand their scope of practice, work effectively as part of a care team, and practice safely and compliantly within ambulatory and urgent care medical settings. In struction is focused on the skills required to obtain a basic medical history and reason for visit, assist providers with basic medical exams, measure and record patient vital signs, respond to emergency situations in a clinical setting. Current employmen t outlook and credentialing requirements for medical assistants are also discussed.
