Catalog description

This course covers an introduction to the anatomy and physiology of the musculoskeletal, integumentary, digestive, nervous, and endocrine systems; as well as medical terminology relating to those specific systems, laboratory testing as related to the syste ms, discussion on frequently ordered laboratory and radiology tests, and their normal vs. abnormal ranges. It also includes the foundation for understanding medical terminology as it relates to the field — word roots, prefixes and suffixes, and combining for ms and current procedural terminology, as well as instruction on ordering laboratory tests and processing laboratory specimens.
